2. Stratosphere-Troposphere Exchange

Stratosphere-troposphere exchange (STE) is one of the key scientific issues in the interaction between the stratosphere and the troposphere. Chemical substances in the stratosphere can enter the mid-high latitude troposphere through large-scale residual circulation, mesoscale tropopause fold and other processes, which in turn affect the distribution of substances and atmospheric oxidation in the troposphere. Global and regional STE processes under the background of climate change are also one of the current research hotspots.
